Some general thoughts:
1. Be genuinely interested in them. Everyone is unique and has their own story. Once you realize that, it's not hard to want to know everything you can about them! (Philippians 2:20-21)
2. Never rebuke someone older than you. They probably know more than you anyway. Figure out where they're coming from and if you must, disagree gently. (1 Tim 2:23)
3. Avoid stupid little arguments. Really, who has time? (2 Tim 2:23)
4. Always offer hospitality without complaining. Yes, it takes time and sacrifice, but serving another is an honor! (1 Pet 4:9)
5. Never embarrass another human being for any reason. Treat each person with dignity and as a child of God. (2 Sam 10:4-5)
6. Let your conversation be always full of grace. (Col 4:6)
7. Always say please and thank you. We learned that back in preschool and yet so many of us have forgotten! (Luke 17:15)
8. Appreciate other people. Learn to admit you can't do everything and then you'll appreciate the people who can help you!
9. Don't praise yourself or brag about yourself. (Prov 27.2)
10. Always be sincere. People hate fakes. (Rom 12:9)
11. Speak words of life. Always speak to encourage and strengthen others. (Acts 15:32)
12. Don't be unjustly critical of others. (Luke 6:41-42)
13. Don't talk too much. (Prov 20:19)
14. Be nice. Be polite. Smile a lot.
15. Don't just love them. Like them too.
